Community Concerns
The Institute of Environmental Sciences (IES) is providing this information because it is concerned about the process of decision making and environmental impacts of environmental activities in our community. The goal of IES is to facilitate the exchange of information in order for citizens to make better, more-informed decisions and to facilitate a forum for discussion. We recognize that public services (e.g. roads, landfills, shopping centers, etc. ) require modifications of land uses, and these modifications often accompany unanticipated and/or negative impacts in addition to the designed positive impacts. Society needs roads and landfills, and these roads and landfills have to go somewhere. We encourage an informed citizenry and informed community planning.
